This young tawny owl is found by a truck driver near the A2 highway. After taking care of him for 3 weeks he is brought to another shelter with a big outside aviary. (This is not possible in our shelter).

The kakariki in the next picture is one of the many found birds that escape their owners every year. The animal ambulance takes them to the shelter.

In the next picture you see several nests of young ducks that are put together in one large group. The ducks stay here until they become waterproof. Then they will be taken to the outside pond and will be released.

The common buzzard in the next picture has flown into a glass noise barrier. After a recovering period of 10 days this bird has been released.

In the next picture you will see several found birds. If the owner does not come for them, they will be taken to larger shelters and put into larger groups.
